The LC Craven Sonoro C clarinets
We are pleased to announce that, while we consider our SM-C clarinet to be the finest example of hard rubber C clarinets currently available, we are expanding our offerings to include a wooden version. This new addition will provide musicians with an opportunity to experience the rich tonal qualities associated with wooden instruments. Details regarding the specifications and availability will be shared shortly. Stay tuned for further updates as we prepare to enhance our stable of clarinets.
The Sonoro hard rubber (N.B. not plastic or ABS) C clarinet: has the same tonal depth and silky smooth emission of sound as the Bb and A Craven/Sonoro clarinets and like the Bb & A is hand tuned by Leslie Craven to A440 or A442 with custom barrel and bell available and can be tuned to those specific barrels and bells ideally with a Craven mouthpiece. Alternatively if you have a favourite mouthpiece Leslie can tune the clarinet to that for you.

Mechanically robust and virtually silent in operation this C clarinet will deliver totally professional sound. Useful in many scenarios, the C clarinet is used extensively in folk music, can take the place of oboes in chamber music or in context of Symphonic use and Opera, has considerable repertoire where the sound and light agility of the C is desired by the composer.

The new design 18 key version of the Sonoro C clarinet has a much improved ergonomic, easy to reach alternative D#/Eb - low G# /Ab no longer do fingers crash into this extra key because Leslie has designed it to be totally accessible without the danger of hitting the extra key when operating the other left hand keys
